| Change shown | Question before accepting or switching |
|---|---|
| Higher total, same selections | Is this a premium or fee change, and when does it take effect? |
| A discount disappeared | Which eligibility condition changed? |
| Different deductible or limit | Was this an intended selection or a changed offer? |
| An extra benefit appears | Did you request it, and can it be removed without other consequences? |
| A replacement quote is cheaper | What happens to ongoing conditions, waiting rules and the old policy’s continuity? |
Save the previous schedule and renewal notice side by side. Ask for an explanation of any unfamiliar line. You are comparing documents, not assuming every increase is an error or every cheaper replacement is equivalent.
Do not cancel a useful existing policy first and investigate later. A new contract’s medical-history treatment can change what protection remains. An uninterrupted premium budget is valuable only if the coverage you rely on also remains meaningful.
